Activities: 5 - 15 minutes

Goal:  Learn about elected officials and candidates.

Are they problem solvers?

Will they put Country before Party?

If so --  Encourage them, Support them, Vote for them,

  1. Click here to find your elected officialsWrite down their title, name and office numbers.  Call one  and leave a message, politely asking them to follow the ideas and ideals of the No Labels organization.  Provide the website address "nolabels.org."  Note how they respond, and share those findings with others.

  2. Start a notebook. As you learn about No Labels ideas and ideals, about politics and government, representatives and candidates, jot down what intrigues or inspires you.

  3. Click to learn what "A New Politics of Problem Solving" means.

  4. Click to read about the core principles that can eliminate much of the dysfunction that currently happens. 

  5. Click here and read a news blog on the No Labels website.

  6. Select one of your elected officials,  and review their website for 10-15 minutes.  Write down any points that interest you.  Repeat, over time, for each Senator and your Representative.  Click here to find your elected officials.

  7. Lay the groundwork for more in-depth telephone calls.  Click here for our telephone template for Legislative representatives. Review the details involved.  Click here to find your elected officials and write down their contact info on the template form so you can easily call at a later time.

Learning

  1. Click here and then select a No Labels publication.  Read some of those ideals and ideas.  Write down the points that you think would have the most constructive impact.  Consider contacting one or more of your representatives, or writing a Letter to the Editor of your local newspaper. 

  2. Fill out our telephone script to use to call Legislative representatives. (Click here for the form link.)   Adjust the script to meet your needs.

  3. Using the telephone script as a guide, call one, or more representatives over a week's, or several week's time.  Each call should take no longer than 15 minutes. 

Doing

  1. Review your notebook, or, write down talking points about what you've learned from No Labels.  Share those points with a friend.

  2. Plan or support chapter efforts for an outreach event.  Click here to sign up for that email list. 

  3. Write down ideas you think would be good points for a Letter to the Editor of your local newspaper(s.)
